Coral

TO KNOW..JOIN US IN THE ADVENTURE OF DISCOVER
By Mauro Butron
Naturalist Guide of Terramar

Coral reefs are formed by thousands of small invertebrate animals called polyps; theses are close relatives of jellyfish and anemones. There are soft corals, that look like plants or fans and hard corals, these are the ones in charge of building the reefs with the minerals they obtain from the ocean.
Coral reefs represent the most diverse sites of our oceans, where creatures such as fish, seabirds, reptiles, marine mammals and even humans, have close encounters profiting from one another.
Join us in an unforgettable journey to discover why the greatest ocean explorer ever, Jacques Cousteau, called us "the aquarium of the world" and dive in one of three living reefs in North America and the only live Coral reef this far north in the Pacific, Cabo Pulmo.

Snorkel

TO DO..SNORKELING AND KAYAK 3 BAY ADVENTURE

The snorkel tour begins just a few minutes away from any hotel or villa in Los Cabos. We start our adventure in the secluded bay of Twin Dolphin (playa las viudas), unique for its rock formations parallel to the ocean. Paddle from Twin Dolphin Bay to the pristine bay of Santa Maria, where you can enjoy snorkeling with hundreds of tropical fish. Santa Maria is credited with being the best bay for swimming. From Santa Maria bay we continue on to Chileno bay cruising by natural granite walls while taking in the peacefulness of the environment. Arriving at the white sandy beach of Chileno you will have time to once again enjoy snorkeling and view exotic species of fish found only in this reef environment.

Tejoruco

MY RECOMMENDATION...KNOW A SMALL PIECE OF THE MEXICAN GRANDIOSITY
A Tejoruco is the result of a great effort from a group of Mexican artisans, who have been trying to keep a millenary tradition alive. Used previous to the arrival of Europeans, THE MEXICAN LACQUER is made of quartz, lime (dolomite) and mixed with organic chia oil. The chia (Salvia hispanica) is a native Aztec plant, as valued as corn, coco or beans. Natural pigments are applied over the tought rind of the tejoruco fruit. The tejoruco (Genipa americana), is a noble tree from the Coast of Mexican Pacific, a source of prime materials for handcraft ships, food and medicines and relative of the coffee.
